It was made up of three camps. Auschwitz I was the main part and a concentration camp. It housed prisoners and it was the location where medical experiments. Auschwitz II which is also known as the extermination part of the camp. It had 4 main gas chambers and each one had their own crematorium. They could kill up to 6,000 a day. The third part of the camp was Auschwitz III which was also known as Monowitz. It was the labor part of camp and provided housing for forced laborers.
